Paint Protection Film Maintenance and Re-Use

Paint Protection Film

What is paint protection film?
Paint protection film -- also called clear bra film -- is applied to vehicles for looks as well as practicality. It’s a transparent, polyurethane film that adheres to the surface of your vehicle but can be removed without damage. It’s invisible from a few feet away and doesn’t affect appearance or aerodynamics. The film itself protects paint from the damage of flying debris, minor scrapes and bumps, and rough weather. (top)

What area of my car will be covered?
You can select the areas you want to cover -- and Bravo Protection Products will gladly explain your options, or special package deals. Generally, we apply paint protection film to the hood, fenders, mirrors, and bumpers. Additional options include headlights, rocker panels, door handles, and door edge guards. (top)

Will the film damage my paint?
Not at all. This film is specifically designed to protect your vehicle’s paint and will not damage it, even when removed. (top)

Can it be removed?
Clear bra film is easily removed by heating one corner of the film to approximately 120°, prying that corner up with your fingernail, and then slowly removing the rest. A “safe for paint” adhesive remover can be used on any remaining residue. (top)

How hard is it to see on the car after it is applied?
Paint protection film is remarkably clear and designed to be that way. See our gallery for some examples. (top)

How long should I wait to apply your product if my car has been repainted?
Generally, we recommend that you wait about 30 days -- the same time frame you would wait before waxing. To be on the safe side, check with the shop that repainted your car. (top)

Paint Protection Film Installation Kits

Are your paint protection kits difficult to install?
Bravo Protection Products knows that a difficult process does not make for happy customers! That’s why we offer high quality, easy-to-install kits so you’ll be completely happy with the results -- and these kits come complete with CD-ROM, instructions and support from our team via the phone. (top)

How do I install this kit myself?
The installation kit includes a high quality CD-ROM with step-by-step instructions, plus written instructions. We also give you access to the same tools we use in our shop, available through our online ordering system. And if you still need help, Bravo Protection Products will take your call or e-mail question. (top)

Are there any special tools needed to install the product?
Yes, and the same installation tools we use are available to you through our own online ordering system. (top)

Do you sell bulk film?
Yes, just use our online ordering system to acquire bulk film or other installation products. (top)

Why use kits versus bulk?
Precision cut kits allow the installer to get a better fit. Bulk film requires using a razor blade on the surface of your vehicle’s paint. Bravo has seen this numerous times and on many occasions there is damage to the clear coat and the paint. (top)

Paint Protection Film Maintenance and Re-Use

Do I need to do anything to maintain my vehicle once applied?
Wash and wax as normal, and check out our recommended care products in the online ordering system. (top)

Can I reuse this material once opened?
Sorry, paint protection film is single-use only, and cannot be removed and re-used for another vehicle. For best results, it must be applied immediately. (top)
